We go back to the year 1976, when Marc Hauspy and his wife Harolda began producing their own chocolates and pralines. Soon they are also making their own version of florentines.
Marc Hauspy had mastered all the traditional cooking techniques, so he knew perfectly how to make these baked sugar cookies himself. For years, the small company made florentines as well as other cookies and chocolates.
Like a good father and teacher, he also taught his son David the skills of making florentines and he later started his own business.
In the ensuing 20 years, David Hauspy built a reputation throughout Belgium as the best supplier of florentines.
Today Jean-Pierre Hauspy, who heads the production today, and his team aspire to export his delicacy beyond our borders and to develop attractive retail packaging for it.
